Essential Oil Inhaler | Aromatherapy Inhaler

One of the easiest ways to use essential oils is in an inhaler. Making an Essential oil inhaler or aromatherapy inhaler stick is quite simple and can be used for multiple issues such as anxiety or for a stuffy nose. In this video, Rebecca Totilo shows you how to create your own essential oil inhalers for anxiety, stuffy nose, and getting to sleep. These are great for colds and flu remedy, for children to take to school, or on trips in a car or airplane.

Inhalers are great for on-the-go but you don’t want to carry several heavy essential oil bottles with you. These are super easy to make! Blank inhalers come in four pieces for making aromatherapy inhalers: the cap (bottom), the inner tube with the hole on top, the cover, and the cotton wick. Essential oil Inhalers do not need carriers such as a vegetable oil for dilution. The cotton wick holds the essential oil in place and you only need to add about 15 drops of your essential oil blend.

Essential oil inhalers are safe for kids to take to school (especially when they have the sniffles). They are also great for travel to help with jet lag, motion sickness, or sleep-aid after a long flight.

What You Need:

Blank Inhaler
Small Mixing bowl
15-18 drops Essential oils

What To Do:

  1. In a small glass bowl, add essential oils. You may add several different oils, depending on your preference (up to fifteen drops).
  2. Remove the cap on the bottom of the aromatherapy inhaler to remove cotton wick.
  3. Drop cotton wick into the bowl to soak up the essential oils.
  4. Using tweezers, drop the wick back inside the essential oil inhaler. Replace cap and press down hard to insert into place. Place cover over inhaler to keep airtight when not in use.
  5. Inhale as needed.
