Essential Oils for Hair

Whether you are searching for a method to stimulate more hair growth and/or prevent hair loss, or if you are just looking to make your hair more beautiful and radiant, essential oils added to your hair regimen offer promise.

No matter whether you have long hair, short hair, thinning hair, or thick hair, essential oils for hair is something we can all use and benefit from. Healthy hair makes for excellent hair growth, and essential oils provide benefits for the scalp to promote growth, relieve dandruff, prevention of oily hair, and even reducing stress and balancing hormones.

Is Your Dandruff Caused by Fungus? Can it be helped?

Dandruff is a prevalent skin disorder that affects over 50% of the world population.

While dandruff itself is not harmful, it can be annoying with its many flakes of dead skin which can appear dirty to some. Just washing your hair does not get rid of it, as your hair is not the problem, the skin is.

The cause of dandruff is relatively unknown, but a common fungus, Malassezia, may add to the problem of dandruff. The fungus itself is found on the healthiest of people without any adverse effects.

Dandruff can also be contributed from certain hair care products that may contain harsh chemicals that may leave the scalp scaly, itchy, or red.

Essential oils for hair may help to combat dandruff and the buildup of dandruff by helping your body maintain the scalp and promote healthy hair by preventing flakiness or itchiness.

Nourishing effects on hair

Keeping the hair healthy is difficult in this day and age with so many chemicals and synthetics in the food we eat and use in daily products. A significant hazard was issued by the US government, stating that Keratin treatment contains a harmful known as formaldehyde that is known as a human carcinogen.

Essential oils help to nourish a person’s hair by hydrating, strengthening and offering soothing effects, as well as antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties that help promote the health of hair.

Oily Hair

Oily hair can be a problem for some, making the hair look dirty which overall is not that great of a look. The oil in your hair is produced by oil glands that regulate the hydration with sebum (the oil) into the hair to keep it healthy and shiny. Essential oils like peppermint can help to reduce the oil when the oil glands are producing too much and make for a much more beautiful and healthier look.

Are Your Hormones the Reason for Hair Loss?

Research has shown stress to be a direct cause of hair loss and hormonal imbalances that contribute to the effect. Stress causes inflammation and induces hair follicle regression, which causes hair loss.
