Below are courses available for CEUs, in addition to our Certification Program courses. All of these courses are available online and can be easily completed in a few hours or days.
Continuing Education Requirements
As of January 1, 2013, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) credentials have changed. National Certification has now been retired and replaced with the new credential called Board Certification.
Educational Requirements to become NCBTMB Board Certified
To meet the educational requirements to become Board Certified, you must obtain 750 hours of total education. If you are currently Nationally Certified and you already have 750 hours, no additional hours are required at this time. If you do not have the minimum 750 hours of education, you will need to obtain the extra hours necessary to reach the 750 hours, of which you can obtain up to 270+ hours with our aromatherapy certification program!
To help you fulfill this educational requirement, we’re offering huge savings on our courses. Our online courses vary in the number of CEUs earned. Please review each course for more information.
If You are Already NCBTMB Board Certified:
It is our current understanding that for Board Certification renewal the NCBTMB requires massage therapists to complete 24 CE hours every 2 years. Of the 24 CE hours, 3 CE hours must be in research and 3 CE hours must be in ethics. Only 4 CE hours can be in self-care.
For more information regarding re-certification requirements beyond just continuing education, please visit www.ncbtmb.org.
If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) directly. The telephone number for the NCBTMB is 800-296-0664or visit their website at www.ncbtmb.org.
Aroma Hut Institute (Rebecca Park Totilo, instructor) is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#765504) or #492. All of our continuing education programs can be used for Board Certification renewal.
You will want to verify and check to see if you can use our credits for other organizations you may belong to, such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork Massage Professionals (ABMP). We are a member of the ABMP as well.
